This week, our students studying the BTEC Tech Award in Health and Social Care had the opportunity to attend York St John University. The visit offered them a firsthand look at the world of higher education and opportunities in frontline healthcare. At the university, students were able to engage with academic staff, explore various healthcare career paths, and gain insights into the skills and knowledge required for a future in this work sector.
Last Friday, our Year 8 students had an exciting visit to the Royal Armouries in Leeds. This educational trip allowed them to explore the fascinating history of weaponry and warfare, offering a unique opportunity to witness historical artifacts and exhibits.

In addition, our Student Leader trip to London was a resounding success. The group had an action-packed itinerary, which included a tour and workshop at the Houses of Parliament where they had the chance to interrogate our MP, Tom Gordon. The students gained insight into the political process and the work that MPs do on behalf of the public. The trip also included a ride on the iconic London Eye, a visit to Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, and the vibrant Covent Garden.
It is wonderful to be able to provide our students with hands-on learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. Thank you to all the staff that facilitate these opportunities.
